Mata Ganga is a revered figure in Sikh history, known for her unwavering faith and dedication. As the wife of Guru Arjan Dev Ji, the fifth Sikh Guru, she played a significant role in supporting the Guru's mission and upholding the values of Sikhism. Despite her devotion, she had no child, which became a source of deep longing for her. On advice of her husband, Mata Ganga, once went in a grand procession to seek blessings from Baba Buddha Ji, hoping to have a child. Despite the large procession and her noble intentions, Baba Buddha Ji did not acknowledge her. Mata Ganga returned home and prayed with deep devotion. She prepared a simple meal of missi roti and offered it with love and humility. Baba Buddha Ji, impressed by her sincere devotion, blessed her, and soon after, Mata Ganga was blessed with the birth of Guru Hargobind Ji, the sixth Sikh Guru. This story teaches us the value of humility and patience. Mata Ganga’s willingness to serve, despite being initially ignored, reflects the power of unwavering faith.
