Sojitz Blue faced operational challenges with traditional diesel-powered lighting towers, which consumed excessive fuel, increased emissions, generated noise, and required frequent maintenance. The mine's harsh environment further complicated the situation, with a need for durable, fail-safe solutions that could withstand extreme conditions.
Fuelfix Solution:
Fuelfix provided hybrid lighting towers (HL270) that combined a highly efficient diesel generator with LiFePO4 battery technology. The system primarily operates on battery power, with the generator only used to charge the batteries. This approach reduced fuel consumption, CO2 emissions, and maintenance costs while ensuring operational reliability. The towers also featured remote monitoring for easier maintenance and refuelling alerts.
